This video was posted back in August,2009, but I just came across it. In light of what is brewing here in Oregon (which I will discuss more in a separate post), it makes me wish we had a representative who would stand up for homebirth and mothers' rights like Mr. Andrew Laming does here.

Midwifery in Australia
I have seen very little talk in the midwifery community in the states about what is happening to midwifery down under in Australia. Personally, I would be totally in the dark if it weren't for the wonderful Lisa Barrett and her incredible blog.

It is just deplorable what the government is doing, not just to midwifery but also, and most importantly, to women and families.
